The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that the nine hour water cut scheduled for Thursday (18) in Colombo and surrounding suburban areas has been cancelled.
Earlier, a warning had been issued that water supply in several areas would be affected throughout the day due to a planned power outage at the Tulhiriya pumping station, which supplies water to the Ambathale Water Treatment Plant.
However, a new announcement clarified that the water cut is no longer necessary, and water supply in Colombo city and all surrounding suburban areas will continue as usual.
Areas where water supply will continue without interruption:
Colombo 01–15
Baththaramulla, Pelawatte, Hokandara, Koswatte, Thalawathugoda
Kotte, Rajagiriya, Mirihana, Madiwela, Nugegoda, Nawala
Kolonnawa, IDH, Kottikawatte, Angoda, Wellampitiya, Orugodawatte
Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa, Dehiwala, Ratmalana, and Moratuwa
