Actor Ajith Kumar’s racing team has secured a commendable fourth-place finish at the Barcelona 24H Race and third place in the AM class of the Michelin Creventic Porsche GT3 Cup (European Endurance Championship 2025). The achievement adds another feather to Ajith’s illustrious career, but according to a Cinema Express report, the news has been kept deliberately low-profile out of respect for the victims of the Karur stampede tragedy.
Ajith, who was honoured with the Padma Bhushan earlier this year, returned to professional racing in 2025 after a 15-year break. His comeback has been nothing short of remarkable—he already claimed a podium at the Dubai 24H in January, and Barcelona marks his second podium of the season.
Earlier in the weekend, Ajith’s team had secured pole position during qualifying. Reflecting on the journey, Ajith shared in an interview:
“It is a culmination of our dreams. Thanks to all the members of our team. Keeping my fingers crossed that we have a good weekend. I need this to go well for us, as it will matter a lot back home in India. It’ll do a world of difference for motorsports in India. I am a lot more confident back in the car on this circuit. Looking forward to the next season as well. Thanks to all my fans and people back home watching and supporting us.”
On the cinema front, Ajith was last seen in Adhik Ravichandran’s Good Bad Ugly, featuring an ensemble cast including Trisha, Arjun Das, Jackie Shroff, Shine Tom Chacko, and Priya Prakash Varrier. Reports suggest that Ajith may collaborate again with Ravichandran for his next project. Meanwhile, fans can revisit his 2004 action entertainer Attahasam, which is set for a theatrical re-release on October 31.
