Cricket fans are in for a blockbuster month as India and Australia face off in a full-fledged white-ball tour starting October 19. The series begins with three ODIs followed by a five-match T20I leg, providing vital preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
The ODI series – led by new skipper Shubman Gill – kicks off in Perth, followed by matches in Adelaide and Sydney. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to international action after a seven-month break, adding experience and firepower to the Indian lineup.
The T20I series, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, features several young talents including Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, alongside experienced campaigners Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav.
Bumrah, however, has been rested from the ODI series to manage workload. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar said, “We’ll rotate key fast bowlers like Bumrah and Siraj to minimize injury risks before major tournaments.”
