The much-anticipated collaboration between Silambarasan (Simbu) and acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran has finally been titled – Arasan. Ever since the project was announced, fans have been eager to see what this powerful duo would create, combining Vetri Maaran’s raw storytelling with Simbu’s magnetic screen presence.
The makers unveiled the first-look poster and title yesterday, setting social media abuzz. The poster shows Simbu from behind, holding a blood-stained sickle while standing on a deserted street – a striking visual that hints at a dark, intense narrative.
Arasan is reportedly a North Chennai–based period drama spanning multiple decades, with Simbu donning various looks, including one from the 1990s. The film is produced on a grand scale by veteran producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu.
While the full cast is yet to be officially announced, reports suggest that Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani, Kishore, Manikandan, and Nelson Dilipkumar will play pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Simbu’s upcoming lineup continues to excite fans. He will make his debut as a producer with STR 50, directed by Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame Desingh Periyasamy, and is also working on STR 51 with Ashwath Marimuthu, where he is set to play the “God of Love.”
