Actor Ajith Kumar has shared an update about his upcoming film. In an interview with India Today, he revealed that the script is nearly ready but said he must wait for the official announcement before sharing further details.
“The script for my next film is getting ready. I am bound by a contract. So, I need to wait for the official announcement to speak about it,” he said.
Ajith also expressed his pride in representing both his country and the Tamil film industry on the global stage. “Very proud to be an Indian, very proud to be part of the Tamil film industry, and to represent it internationally, as well as my country here as a racing driver,” he said.
While the director and cast for his next project are yet to be confirmed, Adhik Ravichandran, who directed Ajith’s recent Good Bad Ugly, revealed in July that he may collaborate with the actor again. It is unclear whether this will be for Ajith’s next film or another future project.
Ajith previously told The New Indian Express’ Indulge that he plans to start shooting in September. He also mentioned that he can manage annual releases if he schedules shoots between November and February. His next film is expected to begin shooting this November, with a release planned for April–May 2026.
Ajith was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, starring Trisha, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, Shine Tom Chacko, Tinnu Anand, BS Avinash, and Raghu Ram.
Meanwhile, his 2004 action hit Attahasam is set for a theatrical re-release on October 31.
