WhatsApp continues to enhance user experience with a fresh set of features and updates across iOS and Android devices. The latest improvements include support for Live and Motion Photos, AI-powered customizations, new sticker packs, and enhanced group search capabilities.
Live and Motion Photos
Users can now share Live Photos on iOS and Motion Photos on Android, capturing moments complete with movement and sound. This allows for richer, more dynamic sharing across all platforms.
Meta AI Chat Themes and Backgrounds
Building on the Chat Themes feature introduced earlier this year, Meta AI now lets users create custom chat themes to personalize conversations. In addition, AI-generated backgrounds are now available for video calls, photos, and videos in chats, letting users experiment with new settings or favorite locations. (Meta AI features may not be available to all users.)
New Sticker Packs
WhatsApp has added several new sticker packs, including Fearless Bird, School Days, and Vacation, giving users fun, expressive ways to communicate without words.
Improved Group Search
Finding group chats has become easier. Users can now search for a contact within the Chats tab to see all groups they share, simplifying navigation even with creatively named groups.
Document Scanning on Android
Android users can now scan, crop, save, and send documents directly within WhatsApp-a feature previously limited to iOS devices.
WhatsApp says these updates are part of ongoing efforts to make messaging more creative, convenient, and enjoyable. More features are expected to roll out in the coming months.
