A 3.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded today (18th) in the sea area adjoining Trincomalee.
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) stated that the tremor occurred at 4:06 PM, approximately 60 kilometers northeast of Trincomalee.
At the same time, the DMC confirmed that no tsunami warning has been issued for Sri Lanka’s coast and there is no danger to the public.
