A security incident occurred at the residence of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader, actor, and politician Vijay. A young man named Arun (24) entered his bungalow in Neelankarai on East Coast Road, Chennai, without permission, causing a stir.
The individual has been identified as having a mental health condition. He was found on the terrace of the house, where police on security duty spotted him and safely brought him down.
A senior police officer confirmed the incident to NDTV, saying: “The young man has been safely apprehended. It has been confirmed that he has a mental health condition. He has been admitted to a mental health treatment center. An investigation is underway regarding how he managed to breach the security perimeter.”
Vijay currently has Y-category security provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Considering his massive fan following and political prominence, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is responsible for his security. This incident has raised questions about potential lapses in security measures.
A few days ago, Vijay had launched his statewide political campaign in Tiruchirappalli, which drew thousands of people. He is now preparing for the next political event scheduled tomorrow in Nagapattinam.
Amid Vijay’s political journey and the growing public interest, this security breach has sparked widespread debate.
